Enbridge Incentive for HVLS Destratification Fans

Enbridge Gas offers $3,000 to $4,000 per fan for HVLS destratification fans installed in qualifying Ontario warehouses. GALE Series fans from 14 to 24 ft meet the fan requirements of the program. Whether your project qualifies depends on your building, and we confirm that with Enbridge before you get a proposal.

Does Your Building Qualify

Enbridge sets the building requirements.

Your building needs all of these

  • A warehouse-type building, kept at around 69°F on average
  • Ceilings at least 22 ft high
  • Heated by ceiling-mounted natural gas forced-air heaters. Unit heaters count
  • Thermostat at floor level, with the heating at roof level

A building won't qualify if

  • The area the fans would cover has radiant heaters or high-velocity vertical-throw unit heaters
  • It uses night setbacks, meaning the heat is turned down overnight

If you're not sure about any of these, send us what you know. Checking is part of our pre-check.

How Many Fans Count

Enbridge caps the number of fans based on floor area. For each fan size, the eligible number is the lower of:

  • the number of fans installed for heating, or
  • building length × width × 0.75, divided by a set number for that fan size

We run this for your building so you know how many fans count in your proposal.

How It Works With Us

1

Incentive Pre-Check

1 to 2 business days

Send us your facility address and a few details about the building. We check it against the program before anything else happens.

2

Site Assessment

We visit, confirm the building meets the program requirements, and plan the fan layout. Final eligibility is confirmed here.

3

Proposal

The incentive is confirmed with Enbridge before you receive a proposal, so the number you see is the number you can plan around.

We handle the incentive paperwork from start to finish.

Why Destratification Cuts Heating Costs

Warm air rises. In a building with high ceilings, the air near the roof can be much warmer than the air at floor level, where your people and your thermostat are. The heaters keep running to warm the floor while the heat collects overhead.

An HVLS fan running slowly pushes that warm air back down and mixes it evenly through the space. The floor stays at temperature with less heating. The higher the ceiling, the bigger the difference.

Enbridge has a destratification savings calculator(opens in a new tab) if you want a rough estimate for your building.
